Using wood in homes and furniture—and continuing to use it over time—and increasing wooden houses can have an effect similar to creating another forest in our towns.
“Legal timber” refers to wood and wood products whose legality has been verified in accordance with the “Guidelines for the Legality and Sustainability Verification of Wood and Wood Products.”
About Takamine Wood
From log procurement to sawing, drying, and shipping, Takamine Wood manages the entire process to produce consistent, high-quality lumber.
Lumber can be dried naturally or kiln-dried.
Our kiln drying is carefully temperature-controlled, starting from heat generation by boiler,
to deliver stable, reliable quality.
Using domestic Japanese cedar, including Obi cedar (Obisugi), we produce interior materials such as paneling and flooring, as well as exterior cladding, after natural and kiln drying.
From sawing and drying to processing, we handle the entire workflow in-house to deliver high-quality domestic Japanese cedar products, including Obi cedar (Obisugi).
Our Design Support Division provides experienced specialists who work closely with your team and help reduce the burden of design and application-related tasks.
At Takamine Wood, we value using as much of each log as possible—not only products such as flooring and wall paneling,
but also the bark, offcuts, and sawdust produced during processing.
These materials are reused as boiler fuel for drying, chips for paper production, and resources that support pig farming
and organic cultivation. Building a circular flow of resources “from mountain to town” aligns with today’s needs for
carbon neutrality and sustainability.
